QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Is this thing any good?

When pump action shotguns are just to slow and you need maximum firepower the semi-auto competition Saiga is the best of it’s kind and well proven!  Now using Kushnapup by removing it’s rear stock you’ll also get the advantages of reduced size allowing greater mobility as a shooter in close corners.  Our product is capable of sustaining rapid firepower from the combination of birdshot, buckshot and even 3″ magnum slugs or rifle cartridges.   This production model made of jackhammer plastic will withstand thousands of rounds and it’s not limited to government sales. We back you up 100% with the ultimate knock down power that you need!

When are they shipping, when am I going to get mine?

We are shipping this first quarter of 2012.  Final samples from the factory have been approved as of Dec 23rd 2011.  We can’t respond diligently 75 times over to those same emails from the same people over and over again.  Your order at the discounted rate of $199 for pre order is secure, after all pre orders ship price goes back up to regular MSRP of $275 ea.  If you choose to cancel your order at this time you will be charged the full amount for shipping and handling for the time it takes us to sort through everyone else’s packages to find YOUR address and package to remove it from shipping.

Why won’t your sales counter go up anymore? I keep putting my money in, cancelling my order for refund, then ordering again.  It used to work… Now it doesn’t???

Read the Q&A above, your lucky we are even shipping to your state. You can write blogs from your bankrupt state all you want all day long for free! Now that somebody kicked your door off it’s hinges and robbed you, how come you don’t think your so funny and don’t blog or contact us anymore?

Is this legal?

Absolutely!  Anywhere in the United States of America (some regions may be excluded in combination with firearm).  2012 just may be the last year of rare open gun market since Federal Assault Weapons Ban sunset in 2004. Re-Election and or new candidates election of the United states political systems under new definition of HR 1022 will freeze all innovation and any chance you can get this product there after if re-instated. The most high tech innovations always start in weaponry first….Remember the internet???

Does it require a license or permit?

No, it’s classified only as a non folding shotgun stock. There are no federal permits, regulations, fees, associated or required of this part.  BATFE has counted it as 2 US made parts- Stock and Trigger.  Adding as many US parts as you like to your Saiga-12 is legal without replacement of it’s already legally maxed out 922r foreign parts listed under legal definition of “Sporting Configuration“.

After reading numerous forums constructed with $5, we have come to the conclusion your a big jerk!

That’s great! Good luck with your negative enterprises.

How do I get one?

We mostly accept payment by any major credit card. Just go to the order now page, pre-order, agree to terms and fill in your credit card info which is a secured confidential payment method.

What is your shipping policy?

After the pre-order production run is finished we will be in full stock for shipping. We generally will ship within 2-4 days of your order by USPS ground and each package is fully insured. Pre order waiting time is down to just a few weeks and not months on end any longer.  Anyone excited?

It’s 3 o’clock in the morning, why does your website present itself as a legitimate business when you won’t even reply to my email right now! ? I’m not going to purchase, I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on?

Ask your mother so you can crawl back up into her womb. Better yet why don’t you put your head in a hole like an ostrich with your ass way up high so we can all kick it.

Will Kushnapup work with a pistol grip converted Saiga-12?

No and yes.  Why should you have to pay a saiga gunsmith up to $1,500.00 to wait for their pistol grip conversion when you could have just gone with us for only $199? Our stocks for the pistol grip modified saiga require trimming away a slight amount of plastic on the inside for it to function correctly.

I just cancelled my order, but changed my mind now, can I cancel my cancellation and still get the stock?  I really want it..

Cheers and beers.

What do I need to put it together?

A screw driver (included), you can work it dry or add lube (recommended, graphite works to). Loc-tite (optional), a $9 hacksaw (optional).  Assembly does not effect the zero of your scope or sights.

How is the trigger linkage?

We focused on trigger performance in our stock more than anything with the trigger squeeze down to nearly zero friction.  It has very light trigger squeeze distancing the same as the original trigger fire and it’s components are not designed from anything before it.  Many companies make great looking furniture but there has always been one common issue with their linkage system giving you a mushy trigger squeeze.  Kushnapup doesn’t.  So please don’t use a cheap and low quality product in reference to ours.

What is LOP?

Measuring from the center of shoulder pad to trigger finger, conventionally the reach of a shotguns standard length of pull  to the trigger  is 14″-16″ on a standard unconverted Saiga-12, Kushnapup’s LOP is 15.5″.

Where do I get the sold separately accessories?

We would highly recommend using the Ultimak picatinny rail which has the highest stability for Saiga shotguns with fixed sights, it is found directly at: www.Ultimak.com. Most all sighting systems will work on Ultimak, some may require riser. We used an Eotech military law enforcement sight, you can check opticsplanet.com or net.  Standard 10 shot magazines we used are made by AGP Arms which are widely available or can be purchased from AGPArms.com

How much are the upgrades?

We will disclose in the future products section after the first generation of Kushnapup reach the market. They will then be available at a cost much lower than the initial gun stock. The upgrades allow attachment of most any accessories of traditional firearm products.

Where is it made?

Mechanical parts are made in the USA and synthetics.

Do you take foreign orders?

Yes we do, but a separate billing code is required.

In what colors do you offer?

At this time Black only, unless you are one of the 200th winning customers, then we will provide an extra free of charge complimentary customized stock which options are only disclosed to the winners.

How much does it weigh?

Kushnapup’s weight is just about equal to the 2 original foreign parts you have replaced (stock and forearm).  3.2 lbs with packaging altogether.  By itself 1lbs 11 oz’s,  The lengthy original stock itself weighs in at 1lbs 3 oz’s.

Do you offer quantity discounts?

Not at this time, in the future it’s possible.

What is it made of?

High impact glass filled nylon inject, heat stabilized (jackhammer plastic).

I can’t read, give me my product, I want it now you son of a bitch!!

Yeah, that’s right..

Buying a Kushnapup is cake, so how do I get a Saiga rifle or shotgun?

Go to your local gun dealers and if they do not sell them request a signed copy of their FFL to do business with and have your saiga(’s) shipped/transferred to them. You can even do your search from the internet and you will find them anywhere near where you are located through www.Gunbroker.com If not then have them transferred to your dealer, that is what they are in business for.  Here’s a great deal we are seeing coming in RIGHT NOW!

What kind of Saiga will Kushnapup work with?

Only the least expensive saiga you can find in it’s import configuration from any date with or without the sporting rail above the gas tube. The Kushnapup homepage has a photo example of it. The shotguns come in 19″, 22″, and 24″ and the rifles have standard 16″ barrels

Will Kushnapup work for the Saiga 410’s, 20’s, 7.62′s -51′s and 39′s, 5.56, 5.45?

Yes, we designed Kushnapup for the 12 gauge Saiga, but coincidentally it also fits and functions with the 20ga perfectly as well remarkably without needing barrel shims.   IT FITS ALL VERSIONS OF THE SAIGA SHOTGUNS!  Also it does fit and function on the saiga 308, similarly also the .223 and 7.62×39 versions all without needing barrel shims or extra attachments.

Can I buy a Saiga already fitted with Kushnapup from Kushnapup LLC?

No, we currently are not an FFL dealer. Only the stock by itself can be purchased through us.

What are your future plans at Kushnapup LLC?

We’re not talking about it, we’re doing it.

Is it illegal to shorten my barrel and how do I measure it?

No, it’s not illegal for you to shorten your barrel. An 18″ shotgun barrel is the minimum length generally allowed by law, and certainly less cumbersome inside a home. To measure (if you want to be safe), use a measuring tape from the tip of the receiver block to the end of the barrel at 18″ .  This method guarantees it won’t be shorter than whats required by law unless you would like to review ATF guidelines.

(Using Kushnapup also reduces the OAL size of your shotgun legally by 13.5″ while keeping it’s original barrel length without $200 NFA short barrel shotgun registration fee)

What is the shortest OAL (over all length) I can legally make my rifle or shotgun?

Minimally the shortest possible is 26″ over all length. The shortest Kushnapup can get with an 18″ barrel saiga shotgun is 27.5″ OAL.   Kushnapup shortens 13.5″ off your original 41″ Saiga-12 import model.

What are tangs?

Tangs are the name of the metal extruded prongs that brace your original rear stock in place with the screws inserted through. They are located at the back of the receiver of your Saiga-12 import model.

Is it illegal to remove the tangs from my Saiga to make it shorter?

WARNING! IT IS ILLEGAL TO REMOVE THE TANGS FROM A SAIGA RIFLE WITH 16″ BARREL UNLESS YOU HAVE A PERMANENTLY ATTACHED MUZZLE DEVICE WHICH IS EQUAL TO THE LENGTH OF THE TANGS OR LONGER!

It’s not illegal on Saiga Shotguns. Your saiga shotgun without a Kushnapup stock will still be in excess length of 26″ or more after tangs are removed even with a barrel shortened to 18″ (with 18″ barrel and tangs removed OAL is 27.5″).

I cannot remove my rear stock off my original Saiga-12, whats up with that?

Yes you can. Due to wide machining tolerances of the Siaga-12 import models some are clamped in much tighter than others. After unscrewing the stock, some Saiga gun stocks will not slide out. The slight angle of the tangs are designed to resist it. Insert the tip of a flat head screw driver (with around 5″ shank) into the slight space behind the upper tang or edges of the stock and it will easily pry right out. A cracking sound or 2 or 3 only imply the amount of pressure it has been subjected to and is no harm.

What kind of ammunition does Kushnapup work with?

For home defense we would highly recommend 00 buck shot. 2-3/4-inch shells are most affordable and work best for recreational shooting, however for low brass and low pressure loads you may have to use a drill for dilating  internal gas port holes a hair wider on your Saiga-12.  The Magnum and Super Magnum loadings (if you can shoulder them) offer little incremental benefit in this type of application. Full power slugs and buckshot work fine in any imported Saiga-12 out there straight off the shelf. Their tremendous recoil makes shooting uncomfortable for many, a factor which inhibits follow up shot accuracy. If your Saiga is modified in such a manor, being to over gassed while using high velocity ammo you could be inflicting damage to all your Saiga parts (internal and external) causing extra wear and miss-shape.

What are the 1 and 2 gas settings?

Setting 1- Single slug: High Pressure, buckshot, magnum rounds and high brass ammo.

Setting 2- Multiple bird shot: Low Pressure, low brass, flares (susceptible to not eject).

How do I fix the gas setting to function with low pressure rounds?

Most of the Saiga-12 import models from Russia already function with low pressure, low brass rounds.  THEY DO NOT REQUIRE ANY GUNSMITHING!  Internally a saiga shotun has ventilation ports to evenly spread out gas pressure exhaust (this is what knocks your bolt back to re chamber another round). When you unscrew your 1,2 gas settings all the way off and remove the small barrel puck behind it you will see the small holes drilled through the barrel inside. Occasionally the original holes are to small which prevents the proper amount of gas from escaping.  Drilling through one or  each of the same holes a little bit wider allows more gas to escape which functions efficiently ejecting and cycling low pressure rounds.

If you have an older model saiga a gunsmith will charge you around $80 for their service and waiting time for this (not including FFL transfers), we only recommend FIREARMSPRO.COM , unless you want to drill it yourself which is explained how to do in the Kushnapup manual.

Man, would I rather have the money or the Kushnapup? You know the answer to that. Can we try one last time for a solid ETA? Is it less than a month??

Let us ship now..

Is it possible Kushnapup can be damaged?

It has been tested vigorously and still proven itself reliable under many extreme adverse conditions. In the event damage is to occur, your Kushnapup is still covered under warranty as stated on the terms and conditions page. This scenario would seem unlikely but more obviously a possibility do to, exceeded improper use, chopping by holding the barrel, using it for a retrieval and rescue grappling hook, eccentric 1 handed firing of 3″ magnum slugs while muzzle is pushed straight down standing with toe in front grip like a pogo stick. Also being left in an impounded drive by shooters car which has been compacted for metal recycling – None of these scenarios grant any right of normal use and void your warranty!

$75 off  for the wait of pre order is not good enough for me, can I withdraw my order?

Yes,  but the more orders we receive the sooner it all happens.   After the first production run is delivered to pre order customers the price of each stock will increase to $275.00 each, which is the standard minimal rate for a gunsmiths pistol grip conversion on your Saiga-12 (actually more like $450 while they have you legally sign over and surrender your gun to them).  Our stocks may no longer be sold separately from the gun.  If you would like to know more Please review Terms & Conditions.

Police and FBI said to file complaint against this and register my Saiga-12 with them? What do I do??

Stay away from them and don’t believe the antigun crap they write all over blogs, duh!
This is also the part where we say if you do not have common sense enough to know whether or not if you are a criminal or not a criminal do not order from us or contact us in any way shape or form.

How does this meet federal 922r compliance?

Under U.S. Federal guidelines it counts as 922r compliant less the 2 original foreign parts replaced – forearm and stock.  BATF has counted Kushnapup as 2 parts U.S. legal (trigger and stock)

What about Series I?

It was Experimental Only and discontinued due to 922r noncompliance.   No orders could be placed at that time, only emails to us from people generally interested in furthering it’s development from 2009-2010.

California Penal code 12276.1 assault weapon ban, classification states as:

A semiautomatic shotgun that has BOTH of the following:

(A) a folding or telescoping stock.

(B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.

Interpretation: Saiga-12 having a “fixed” non detachable standard 10 round magazine with bullet button (and now the MICRO BULLET BUTTON!)  quick mag release device is legal in California with possible pistol grip so long as it does not have a folding or telescoping stock.  To release the mag instead of being able to depress the mag release lever with your thumb you insert the Kushnapup screw driver through the bullet button hole which is only a protective shell surrounding the lever with a hole in the back to depress it.

Where is it restricted?

Currently it is legal in most all areas, however these laws can and do change. It is the purchasers responsibility to follow and keep up with the changing legalities within local regions and states of ownership. No exception on shipping to restricted regions unless granted permission to be authorized to do so. If in doubt do not purchase.

NY state Federal Assault Weapons ban without sunset provision penal code 265.00(22) assault weapon classification pertains as:

A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least TWO of the following characteristics:

A folding or telescoping stock

A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon

A fixed magazine capacity in excess of five rounds

An ability to accept a detachable magazine.

Assault weapons DOES NOT INCLUDE:

A semiautomatic rifle that cannot accept a detachable magazine that holds more than five rounds of ammo (customized 5 rounds or less detachable mags)
A semiautomatic shotgun that cannot hold more than five rounds of ammunition in a fixed or detachable magazine. (“fixed” holding 5 rounds or less)

Interpretation – A “fixed” non detachable 5 round magazine in combination with pistol grip is NY legal. The classification of Kushnapup is neither as pistol grip nor thumb hole stock, in regards though it is a “rifle stock, possibly pistol grip” which minimally is NY legal in combination with “fixed” non detachable 5 round magazine version of RAA Saiga-12.

Thumbhole stock on a Saiga-12 with detachable magazine is also legal in NY.
Kushnapup in replacement being the reversed of this design can still be open to
legal interpretation which is yet inconclusive.

Connecticut classification of an assault weapon states:

a semiautomatic shotgun that has at least TWO of the following:

i. a folding or telescoping stock;

ii. a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;

iii a “fixed” magazine capacity in excess of five rounds; and

iv. an ability to accept a detachable magazine.

Interpretation – A “fixed” non detachable 5 round magazine in combination with pistol grip is Connecticut legal. The classification of Kushnapup is neither as pistol grip nor thumb hole stock, in regards though it is a “rifle stock, possibly pistol grip” which minimally is legal under Connecticut law in combination with “fixed” non detachable 5 round magazine version of RAA Saiga-12. Use with detachable magazine is subject to legal interpretation which is yet inconclusive if using “fixed magazine” bullet button device legal in California.

Massachusetts – Definitions of Assault Weapon Types:

Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder and/or a capacity exceeding six rounds.

Interpretation – A “fixed” non detachable 5 round magazine version of Saiga-12 in combination with pistol grip in Massachusetts is legal.

NJ “Assault firearm” means:

A semi-automatic shotgun with either a magazine capacity exceeding six rounds, a pistol grip, or a folding stock.

“Pistol grip” means a well-defined handle, similar to that found on a handgun, that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, and which permits the shotgun to be held and fired with one hand.

Interpretation – Kushnapup by itself is classified as a rifle stock not being a firearm itself, but in combination being assembled onto non detachable “fixed” 5 round Saiga-12 version as “possibly a pistol grip configuration” which is open to interpretation as stated inconclusive.

Illinois:

Acquisition of Saiga-12(s’) without state issued FOID is prohibited.

Hawaii:

The manufacture, possession, sale, barter, trade, gift, transfer, or acquisition of detachable ammunition magazines with a capacity in excess of ten rounds which are designed for or capable of use with a pistol is prohibited. Permit to acquire firearms can be applied for through your local police department.

Interpretation – Saiga-12 Kushnapup can be used in combination with all detachable magazine capacities.
